FAQ
Got questions? Here are the answers to what people ask most about coaching and how it works.
-
What is life coaching?Life coaching is a non-directive, co-creative partnership designed to maximize personal and professional potential. Drawing on techniques from the fields of psychology, sociology, and human performance, coaching is a highly effective system for increasing self-awareness, building on strengths, and developing actionable plans for success.

How does coaching work?Coaching starts with a free 30 minute consultation where we get to know each other and find out if coaching is right for you. If we both decide that we would work well together, then you'll book a package and we will schedule your weekly 1 hour sessions. During our sessions, I will ask you insightful and thought-provoking questions to get to the core of what you need most from our time together. I also provide you with a supportive and non-judgmental space where you can seek the answers you're looking for. Each session will likely produce several discoveries and "a-ha" moments to help you on your way. Toward the end of each session, we will develop an assignment for you to work on during the week based on the discoveries you made. The assignment is not a test, but is meant to give you a clear roadmap of how to reach your specific goals and unique definition of success. In following sessions, we review your progress, celebrate your victories and get honest about the times you fall short. Continuing to work together like this, we move you further along the path toward your exciting destination.

What can I expect to get from coaching?Coaching with me is designed to give you the clarity, confidence and encouragement to pursue your full potential and overcome the limitations that are holding you back. I provide you with plenty of room to be yourself and to dig deep as you look for lasting answers. I'm an insightful and intuitive coach with a solid understanding of what motivates people. This means that I am able to listen carefully to what you share as well as to what you don't share. I help you make progress by connecting the dots and reading between the lines, giving you the valuable perspective you need to reimagine the possibilities for your life. All along the way, I strive to empower you to fully own your life as you take charge of your future in new and meaningful ways.

Where do you do your coaching?I do almost all of my coaching sessions either in my Oklahoma City office or by Zoom and phone. When working with individuals or groups locally, I can also meet at a variety of other places including coffee shops, office spaces, and outdoor parks (additional fees apply).

How long do you coach a client?I generally work with clients for 3 to 6 months at a time, and sometimes up to a year or more. It usually takes people who are strongly motivated about 3 months to make a significant change. If a little more motivation is needed, or if the change is bigger than anticipated for a client, it can take 6 months or more. My aim is to always help you produce results you feel great about in the least amount of time possible, but also with the greatest long-term impact for your life.

What kinds of people do you typically work with?My focus is on empowering passionate difference makers to lead courageous, authentic lives so that they can find and fulfill their purpose. Since 2014, I've been privileged to help servant leaders, creative professionals, social entrepreneurs, and others lead, create, and innovate on purpose. Typically, the people I serve are ready to move forward with their lives but realize they need help to do it. They may be looking for answers, but they don't need someone to tell them what to do. Many of my clients are independent and have leadership experience, have been through a major life event that changed their course, or are at a point where they want to fulfill their potential, connect with their passion or find their purpose. Above all, I work with people who want to lead courageous, authentic lives filled with purpose and passion.

How are you different from other coaches?Like many coaches, I am deeply insightful and have a genuine interest in helping others to improve their lives. Unlike some coaches, I am not as much a cheerleader as I am a sincere champion for you. This is due to my own personality and style, and because I profoundly believe in the potential that is already within you. I acknowledge your successes and struggles, and I encourage you each step of the way, but with a calm and caring style. The quality of space I create in my sessions is something else that I believe sets me apart. It's important to me that you feel accepted and understood in the space we share while you work hard to accomplish the big changes you want to see in your life. My ability to create this kind of space is a direct result of having gone through my own share of difficulties and coming to terms with them over time. I am not uncomfortable with whatever you are going through in your life. People often say that they can share more with me than they are able to share with others they know. My coaching method itself is also different from that of many other coaches. Some coaches work with you to set goals and then help you to achieve those goals, without making sure that those goals are integrated with who you are at a core level. My approach is more than goal setting. I work with you to create long-lasting, sustainable change by connecting your goals with your sense of passion and purpose. This integrated approach produces extraordinary results that positively impact every aspect of your life, no matter what area of your life we are working on. Finally, while I do take our time together very seriously, I'm also known to bring a healthy dose of humor to my sessions. I've found that laughter is a great way to ease tension, get to the root of tough issues, and enjoy our time together that much more.
-
What about ethical standards and confidentiality?Full Integration Coaching abides by all of the ethical standards and confidentiality requirements of the International Coach Federation (ICF), the worldwide leader in coach credentialing.

How do I know if you're the right coach for me?This is probably the most important consideration when looking for a coach. Because coaching truly is a partnership, both the coach and client need to feel like they really connect with each other in order to produce the best results. I have a strong desire to work with clients I believe I can help, and I want them to feel that I can help them too. I offer a free 30 minute consultation which allows both of us to decide if we would work well together. In cases where the fit just isn't quite right, I will always do my best to refer you to other coaches who can help.
